SWEDISH BUNS
A few weeks ago, I had the absolute pleasure to work with Cecilia at the Swedish Church in the kitchen making the famous SWEDISH BUNS (known in Swedish as Kanelbullar). I also ate a few… and took a few home… and continued to eat them.
For a little while now my Dad has been taking me to the Swedish Church (host of the Christmas Bazaar) to have these magnificent buns (we also attempted to make them and failed miserably). Not only did we come for the buns and coffee, but whenever we stepped in we are welcomed by some of the most loveliest people.
I had an extraordinary day working with Cecilia and meeting some of the Swedish community. We made approximately 150 buns - and to my surprise they weren't as difficult to make as I would have thought. Cecilia was an absolute professional and she made sure that I wasn't just standing around watching - I defiantly got my hands dirty (not to mention my whole outfit).
Cecilia told me many beautiful things about Sweden, her culture and her family.
I thank her so much, as well as the rest of the community, for letting me help out and the great experience.
